Grim Saga Mini is built in parallel lanes, each one a branch with its own report and pictures, merged into the main game only when its tests pass on the real thing. On 31 October nine lanes came home at once. Here is what a player would notice.

One fight engine for every blow
Every strike in the game, yours or a goblin's, now goes through the same engine: a windup, an active sweep with a real shape, a recovery. You can block, perfect-block in a short window, dodge, and wear armour that protects the part it covers. Fighters have a brain: they judge range, look for openings, feint, flank and lose their nerve. Packs take turns, one going in while the others circle. Hits stop time for a frame, knock back, draw blood and shake the screen; leg wounds slow you and head blows daze you.
Battles with a commander's map
Squads form by culture, lines meet, archers loose first, flanks turn and broken sides rout. A COMMAND entry on the dial opens the battle map: select a squad, right-click an order, double-click to return to your own two feet. Raids and wars run on the same engine, and you can raise a squad of your own with bounties and hired bands paid in real coin.

Peoples with tempers
- The necromancer is calm, provoked or wrathful, and only knows what he or his dead have seen. His skeletons take orders; his zombies' bites sicken and turn.
- Goblin camps have a pot on the fire and a cave behind them.
- Elf wardens hunt whoever fells the nearest ancient forest.
- Dwarves drink three times as much as anyone, and the tavern brawl is acted out plate by plate.
- Orcs settle things with a duel and a challenge.
- The Kifa serve, then go free.

A day for every trade, a room for every trade
Stable hands, carters, bankers, jailers, farmers and granary clerks each have a day of their own in a room of their own: forty-one kinds of building now have real interiors, from prison cells to the necromancer's tower. Children go to lessons and come home by their mother's clock. Nobody mills about all day; people keep their spot at a place.

Art and sound
The home screen's backdrop is now the capital's keep rendered from the real game world, by day and by night. The Grim Saga theme plays on the menu only; in the world you hear the place you are in: wind, birds by day, crickets and owls at night, a stream near water, murmur in towns, cups in a tavern, a hearth indoors, drips in the mines, rain and thunder. The forest Protector was redrawn from the newer design: dark bark, antlers, white eyes and the face in the chest. Water shimmers, ground edges wander instead of running in straight lines, and windows light at night.

Proof
Forty-nine automated suites drive the real game after the merge and all of them pass, from `wolf_play` (212 checks) to `ui` (217). The one that failed first time, two boss-bar checks, was fixed the same evening. The feature bars on the Grim Saga Mini page moved accordingly.
