Grim Saga is the studio's long-term flagship: a dark, stylised-fantasy open-world RPG in Unreal Engine 5, semi-realistic and medium-poly, where ancient magic, divine power and political decay have warped the land. It is also the world that Grim Saga Mini simulates at pixel scale, so much of what we learn there about living towns and peoples feeds straight back into it.

Two roads of magic
Natural magic is stable and balanced, given to elves and humans. Sacrificial magic is powerful, ritual-based and corruptive. From those two roads the branches open: Dark (mind control, chaos, torture), Light (healing, shields, purification), Nature (wild, wind, roots, fire) and Wild, sacrificial only, raw and unstable. Fireball exists in both nature branches and can be raised to its third level only under special conditions.
At the end of the dark road is the Chaos Cloud: the endgame spell of dark mages, which corrupts the land and the people on it and turns them into threats.

The Pantheon
- Ethirifus, God of Gods: creator, omnipotent, absent.
- The God of Magic keeps the arcane balance.
- The God of Life made organic life and nurtures it.
- The God of Light made the God of Nature and protects.
- The God of Darkness: deceiver, controller of pain.
- The God of Knowledge seeks truth and keeps memory.
- The God of Death, born from Life and Darkness, neutral.
- The God of Nature, born from Life and Light, wild.
Who you can be
Humans, elves, dwarves, orcs and goblins. Four factions, Light, Dark, Evil and Neutral, each with its own reputation system. Classes that evolve with play: warrior, mage, rogue, hunter, or citizen.
Where it stands
Character creation is in progress. The beta map is being rebuilt, which is why you will not see it here yet. The forest Protectors have a finished model and a developing AI. Two trailers are planned, an atmosphere piece first and a gameplay piece second, and a Kickstarter campaign will follow; the date will be announced on this page before anywhere else.
What will not change: no paywalls, no microtransactions, and no release with game-breaking bugs or promises we cannot keep. Follow the Grim Saga page to be told when there is something to play.
